Bio

Radio 2 Folk Awards nominee Saul Bailey (accordions, concertina) and composer and multi-instrumentalist Mitch Keely (fiddle) met on the English session scene and instantly clicked over their love of pushing tunes beyond their limits. Together, they draw upon a shared history of dance music, combining traditional and original tunes with their signature irreverence and appreciation for the weird and wonky.

Described as “extraordinary…storming and massively confident” (Bright Young Folk), their debut album “Atthomis” (2024) is crafted from reworked traditional English tunes, self-penned compositions and improvisations, and is a testament to the way in which Bailey and Keely embrace the unknown and find new musical possibilities. Their second album of tunes designed for bal dance, “Balbum”, released in April 2026. No two gigs are the same, and audiences can expect to be as surprised as the players.
